HIGHLY SMOOTH GRINDING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding method that can replace the polishing finish or can realize a highly smooth finish close to it easily and efficiently by changing the present grinding method that is difficult to obtain a highly smooth grinding finish surface. SOLUTION: In various kinds of grinding process for finishing with a grinding wheel as tool, a work piece is ground with a contacting length of the grinding wheel and the work piece by feeding the grinding wheel or the work piece to the right angle direction of grinding wheel rotating direction (grinding direction) with a feed speed that the feed of the work piece by a turn of the grinding wheel is less than the cutting edge flank wearing length right-angled to the grinding direction. Then the work piece or the grinding wheel is moved very small quantity intermittently parallel to the grinding direction so that the interference height calculated geometrically from the grinding wheel and the work piece can be less than the specified highly-smooth finishing surface coarseness. By finishing repeatedly next contacting length of the grinding wheel and the work piece, the entire surface of the work piece is finished to be a highly smooth surface.
