PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw conveyor of a shield boring machine capable of installing a water cut-off gate even when there is no allowance in an installing space in a shield, and capable of also miniaturizing an opening-closing mechanism of the gate. SOLUTION: The tip of a conveyor housing 11 of the screw conveyor 10 is continuously arranged on a bulkhead 6 in the rear of a cutter chamber 7. A tip part of a screw auger 12 is projected in the cutter chamber 7. The screw auger tip part 12a is constituted so as to be retractable in the conveyor housing 11. The water cut-off gate 20 curved in a circular arc shape in the lengthwise direction is arranged in parallel to the axial direction of the conveyor housing. The tip vicinity in the conveyor housing 11 is constituted so as to be openable- closable via a hydraulic jack 23 similarly arranged in the axial direction.
