PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new liquid crystal compound which produces an optical film having an excellent alighnment retention and an excellent mechanical strength after fixing the alighnment of a liquid crystal. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal oxetane compound is represented by formula (1) (wherein, in formula (1), Z<1> and Z<2> each independently represent any one of formulas (2)-(4); L<1> , L<2> , L<3> , and L<4> each independently represent any one of a single bond,-O-,-O-CO-or-CO-O-; P<1> and P<2> each independently represent formula (5); P<3> represents either a single bond or formula (5); and in formula (5), X represents H, a methyl group or a halogen atom; n and m represent each an integer of 0-8. |
