The invention concerns a method for managing receiver means of a transponder which consists in activating it periodically during listening times (12A, 12B; 14A, 14B; 14C) to detect a carrier and to receive thereafter a message. When the carrier is causing interference and therefore no message is received, the method consists in decreasing the sensitivity of the transponder to the reception of electromagnetic signals, in particular for reducing an input amplifier gain. In a preferred embodiment, the method consists in once more increasing said sensitivity after a certain period of reduced sensitivity or absence of interfering carrier reception.
