PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction nozzle for a vacuum cleaner which can efficiently remove dust at a floor by the wall. SOLUTION: A suction body case 2 is formed with at least one ventilating hole for forward rotation for introducing air flow for rotating a rotary brush 3 forward and one ventilating hole for reverse rotation for introducing air flow for rotating the rotary brush 3 reversely, and includes at least one shutter which can selectively close either the ventilating hole for forward rotation or the ventilation hole for reverse rotation.
