PURPOSE: A printer and a printing data output control apparatus are provided to save printing paper and printing time by printing pages with data and preventing pages with no data from being printed. CONSTITUTION: A printer comprises an interface unit(12) for receiving data to be printed from an external device; a determination unit(40) for determining the existence of the data for each page; an output unit for printing the data on the printing paper in accordance with a printing command; a control unit(10) for controlling operation of the output unit so as to skip the page which is determined as an absence of data by the determination unit and print the page which is determined as an existence of data by the determination unit; and a storing unit(14) for storing the information on the skipped page. A printing data output control apparatus comprises a data receiving module for receiving data to be printed; a determination module for determining the existence of the data for each page; and a print command transmission module for transmitting print commands to the printer.
