PURPOSE: To improve workability in assembling a tape cassette by eliminating occurrence of disturbance in communicating with the tape driving device even if the direction of incorporating a memory board differs vertically and horizontally. CONSTITUTION: The tape cassette 1 is equipped with the memory board 12 mounted with MIC 5 in which prescribed information is recorded or to be recorded in a cassette shell 2. The memory board is roughly rectangular and formed with a near rectangular spiral antenna patterns 14, 14. Each line segment pattern 14u, 14d, 14l, 14r of the antenna patterns is formed in a roughly axial symmetric relation relative to the center lines CLh, CLv vertically and horizontally.
