An electronic card (11) is connected to supply potentials (U0,U1) in a connector (20) to obtain transient connection signals during the hot swap of the card. The transient signals are detected for providing binary signal of which a binary state represents the hot swap. The card operation is performed using the state of the signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) electronic card; and (2) electronic card insertion management system.
