PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus using a bias cleaning system cleaning means, which is capable of preventing staining on the rear side of a transfer paper without complicating a mechanism of attaching/detaching an image carrier to/from a transfer member. SOLUTION: Even after a toner image is formed on a photoreceptor by an image forming operation, the photoreceptor is rotated and also a developing bias AC and a developing bias DC are kept in an ON state so as to form a developing electrical field. By applying the developing bias in such a manner, the toner T remaining near a developing nip between a developing sleeve 22BK not rotating and the photoreceptor 11BK is moved toward the photoreceptor. And, the quantity of the toner lying near and at the developing nip is reduced when the rotary drive of the photoreceptor 11BK is turned off. |
