PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact magnetic bearing device which can reduce the dimension in the axial direction of a spindle, easily fit a structure such as an impeller to both ends of the spindle, and suppress the influence of the thermal expansion of the spindle on a rotary sensor. SOLUTION: A rotary sensor target 9 is provided on the outer circumference of the spindle 2 of a rotating body 1. In addition, the rotary sensor 5 is disposed outside the rotating body 1 at the position facing the rotary sensor target 9.
