PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube of which stress due to inner vacuum pressure of the cathode-ray tube can be effectively reduced by optimizing the structure of a funnel. SOLUTION: If the distance on the tube axis from a seal line where a panel 1 of the color cathode-ray tube and a funnel 2 are sealed together to a yoke-line of the funnel is expressed as L, a half of the above seal line length as L', a half of the length of seal stress adjustment line at a position L×0.67 toward the direction of a yoke part from the seal line as A, and the difference between L' and A as S, there is a correlation of 0.12×L'<S<0.27×L'. By optimizing the structure of the funnel this way, stress in the vicinity of the seal line and the yoke line, where stress has been centered in conventional cases, is lowered by 25% and 53%, respectively, whereby, crashworthiness is secured and yield rate in a process is improved.
