PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and an information processing method through which a desired file is easily and surely detected even though a large amount of AV data is controlled. SOLUTION: A retrieval file is generated from corresponding video data based on recording start position information and identification information of the video data and the file is recorded.
