PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to purchase various contents by a simple accounting system without personal authentication and personal information. SOLUTION: A DVD-R 5a holds two IDs, or a media ID related to information on purchasable contents and an accounting ID related to accounting information on purchase of the contents. A computer 4 along with the media ID and accounting ID of the DVD-R 5a requests content purchase from a server 1. According to the content purchase request from the computer 4, the server 1 searches a database in an authentication and accounting server 3 to authenticate the content purchase request. The server 1 then records accounting information on the contents sold by a content server 2 according to the authenticated content purchase request, in the database in the authentication and accounting server 3 according to the accounting ID following the content purchase request.
