A method of processing a digital image to detect and remove red-eye features includes identifying highlight regions of the image having pixels with highe r saturation and/or lightness values than pixels in the regions therearound, associating red-eye features with at least some of the highlight regions, an d performing red-eye reduction on at least some of said red-eye features. Further selection criteria may be applied to red-eye features before red-eye reduction is carried out. |
