PURPOSE: To provide a quick die-opening function requiring no constitution elements on the slide side of a press. CONSTITUTION: Guide posts 10 for guiding the ascending and descending action of the slide 1 have also means for guiding the ascending and descending action of a bolster 4. On the other hand, driving means 5 for elevating and lowering the bolster are composed of hydraulic cylinders 20. The top of the hydraulic cylinder 20 is joined to the bottom of the bolster 4. Fig. 1 shows a normal state and, when maintaining and inspecting the die, the bolster 4 is lowered. Then, the space between the upper and lower dies is kept open.
