PURPOSE: A film pressing apparatus for a motion picture film printer is provided to obtain high definition characters by adjusting the depth of the character printed on the film in a convenient manner. CONSTITUTION: A film pressing apparatus comprises a fixing unit coupled to the rear portion of a work table through a hinge(41) in such a manner that the fixing board is rotatable, wherein the fixing board has a coupling groove(42) for insertion of a locking lever arranged at the front portion of the work table; an adjustment unit including an operating pipe(51) inserted into a guide groove(40a) penetrating through the fixing unit and supported by a spring(52), a support pipe(53) inserted into the operating pipe, a tightening nut screw-coupled to the top of the support pipe, and a rotating member(55) screw-coupled to the bottom of the operating pipe, wherein the adjustment unit has a height adjustable by the rotation of the rotating member and vertical movement of the operating pipe; a stopper(60) including a support piece(61) fitted to the upper portion of the support pipe and fixed through the tightening nut, and a fixing bolt(62) coupled to an elongated hole(61a) formed at the support piece so as to control the radius of gyration of the support piece and the operating pipe; and a support member(70) fixed at a lower flange(53a) of the support pipe.
