PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disaster control device for elevators capable of making the elevator hall natural dimensions available. SOLUTION: A shutter curtain 30 for closing the opening 6 in case of fire is arranged on this side of the elevator door 7 provided in the opening 6 in the wall 4. Since the curtain 30, to be operated up and down by a vertical movement means 33 arranged in the upper vacancy S of a crosshead 13 serving as the upper internal member of the enclosure 15 for the opening 6 prescribedly arranged in the opening 6, travels as guided by a guide rail 31 formed in the side frame 14 which is a side wall internal member, the curtain 30 is arranged within the width of the thickness direction of the wall 4 of the enclosure 15.
