PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perpendicular conveyance device positively controlling an attitude of a document conveyed from a unit of a precedent stage by right and left guide members, and conveying the document in a crossing direction to a conveying direction of the precedent stage without providing a step in formation of a stopper. SOLUTION: The perpendicular conveyance device is provided with a lower guide member 2, an carrying-in conveying means 3, a carrying-out conveying means 4, a paper stopping means 5, a lower side conveying means 6, a pressing means 7, and the guide members 10. Since the guide members 10 are provided on end parts in a paper stopping means 5 side of the lower side conveying means 6 so as to move along with the end parts, paper can be supported from both sides in correspondence to a paper size, and drift and oblique delivery of the paper can be suppressed when conveying the paper in the crossing direction to the conveying direction.
