PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and speedily select a reception device and a channel. SOLUTION: HDD (hard disk drive) 41 stores reception device specifying data and interface specifying data. CPU 31 controls the reception of a first command and judges whether a first channel selected by the first command exceeds the prescribed number of digits or not. When it is judged that the channel exceeds the prescribed number of digits, a picture processing board 45 selects the input of a signal supplied from the reception device specified by reception device specifying data corresponding to the numerical value of the digit, which exceeds the prescribed number of digits. When it is judged that the channel exceeds the prescribed number of digits, CPU 31 controls the transmission of a second command for selecting a second channel corresponding to a numerical value which is the number of the digits of the first channel or below to the reception device outputting the signal whose input is selected. When it is judged that the channel does not exceed the prescribed number of digits, the transmission of the first command for selecting the first channel is controlled.
