PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fluctuations of emission intensity for each emission even if the battery voltage fluctuates. SOLUTION: The booster circuit 2 charges the filter capacitor C0 using the secondary battery B as a power source. The xenon arc lamp Xe emits light using the filter capacitor C0 as a power source when trigger is impressed by a trigger switch SW2 when the voltage at both ends of the filter capacitor C0 is at a prescribed voltage. The trigger switch SW2 receives an on/off signal from a control circuit CN1 in a certain cycle and lights the xenon arc lamp Xe by the on/off cycle. The control circuit CN1 monitors the voltage at both ends of the filter capacitor C0 through a voltage detection circuit 5a, and stops the operation of the booster circuit 2 when the voltage at both ends of the filter capacitor C0 reaches a specified threshold voltage, and generates a on/off signal immediately after that. The charging of the filter capacitor C0 starts again when the stop time, which subtracts from the on/off cycle the time from the charging start till the charging stop of the capacitor C0, starting from the generation start of the on/off signal, elapses. |
