PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve improvement in the handleability and improvement in the functionality of a disk changer. SOLUTION: The disk changer is provided with a plurality of recording/ reproducing parts 300 which carry out the recording and/or reproduction of an information signal on and/or from a disk-shaped recording medium 1000. Then disk-shaped recording media are taken out from the housing part 14 of a rotary tray 7 on which a plurality of disk-shaped recording media are housed, and transported to each recording/reproducing part. The disk changer is further provided with a plurality of disk taking out mechanisms 400 to take out the disk-shaped recording media from each recording/reproducing part for transporting them to the housing part of the rotary tray. Each disk taking out mechanism places each disk-shaped recording medium transported to each recording/reproducing part so as to retreat it from a moving locus following the rotation of the rotary tray of the disk-shaped recording medium housed in the housing part.
