PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support device for a magnetic head which increases the fixation strength between a slider and a suspension with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The support device for the magnetic head which supports the slider (2) mounted with a magnetic head (4) in a free swinging state by the suspension has 1st and 2nd through holes (34, 36) formed on the sides of leaf springs (24, 26) and projection parts (10, 12) and recessed parts (14, 18) formed on the side of the slider (2), and also has resin (42) which is charged in the recessed parts and covers the surface parts of the leaf springs including the projection parts (10, 12) projecting on the leaf springs (24, 26) and the through hole (36) to fix the slider and leaf springs; and the mechanical coupling and coupling using the resin are both used together to increase the fixation strength between the slider and leaf springs.
