The present invention relates to chemokines, compositions and methods effective to modulate the immune response in a mammal, via the recruitment of regulatory T-cells to antigen presenting cells (APCs). In particular, the present invention relates to modulating an immune response by increasing or decreasing or otherwise altering the functional activity of any one or more of the chemokines CCL1, CCL4, CCL3, CCL2, and XCL1. Uses of chemokines, compositions and methods of the present invention are also described.
