PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin type paper box having a rectangular parallel-piped shape which can be displayed or stored while being self-stood at a display shelf or a storing shelf. SOLUTION: There is provided a paper box having a rectangular parallel- piped shape in which an upper opening and a lower opening of a cylinder having a rectangular cross sectional shape composed of a side surface plate (1), a front surface plate (2), a side surface plate (3) and a rear surface plate (4) are sealingly closed by a top surface plate (6) and a bottom surface plate (7). The lower opening is cooperatively provided with the bottom surface plate (7) through a folding line (31) at an end side of the rear surface plate (4). A supporting segment (9) provided with an engaging protrusion piece (8) is cooperatively connected to the end side of the front surface plate (2) through a folding line (32). The front surface plate (2) having the supporting segment (9) cooperatively connected to it through the folding line (32) is formed with two cutting lines engaged with the engaging protrusion piece (8).
