INKJET PRINTER AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer and a method of operating the same according to image data indicative of a prescribed gradation number to be printed on an image receptive medium in the inkjet printer. SOLUTION: This printer has a performance whereby only the gradation number smaller than that required by the data is generated. Multi-tone printing is performed on a pixel position on a reference raster and auxiliary ink drops are applied to an adjacent pixel position on a transfer raster, thereby printing the increased gradation number.
