PURPOSE:To manufacture a tubular body for a heat pipe which obviates deformation of an Al pouring pipe by passing said pouring pipe through an end cap attached to one end of the tubular body, inserting a shape holder into the pouring pipe and welding the pouring pipe to the end cap. CONSTITUTION:An end cap 1 consisting of an Al plate body is tightly fitted to the end of an Al tubular body 3 constituting the external body of a heat pipe. An Al pouring pipe 2 having roughly the same diameter as the inside diameter of a through-hole 4 punched to the central part of the cap 1 is inserted into said through-hole until the end thereof is made flush with the inside end face of the cap 1. A circular cylindrical shape holder 5 consisting of a material such as a stainless steel, Ti or the like having the m.p. higher than the m.p. of Al is inserted into the pipe 2 and the pipe 2 is welded in this state to the cap 1 by a TIG welding method. The holder 5 is thereafter removed and the tubular body for the heat pipe which obviates deformation, clogging, etc. of the pipe 2 owing to melting and sagging during welding is thus obtd. |
