PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating method and device that prevents a heating device on a heater from being adhered with a hot-melt type resin flowing from the end face of a reinforcing heat shrinkable sleeve at an optical fiber connecting part when the sleeve is heated and shrank. SOLUTION: After the heat shrinkable reinforcing sleeve is put around an optical fiber connecting part, the sleeve is mounted on its positioning mechanism and positioned on a heater. Then, the sleeve end face restraining part of the positioning mechanism is separated from both end faces of the sleeve, the heater is heated to thermally shrink the sleeve. |
