AGENT FOR ENHANCING RADIATION THERAPY CONTAINING PHYTOSPHINGOSINE DERIVATIVE AS EFFECTIVE COMPONENT

PURPOSE: A composition containing phytosphingosine, a derivative thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an effective component is provided which can enhance the efficiency of radiation therapy even in cancer tissue having low resistance to radiation and has low adverse effect. CONSTITUTION: The radiation therapy-enhancing agent contains phytosphingosine represented by the formula(1), a derivative thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, wherein R1 is H or a substituted or non-substituted C1-20 alkylcarbonyl group. The phytosphingosine derivative is a phytosphingosine derivative represented by the formula(2 or 3), wherein R4 is substituted or non-substituted ethyl, butyl, hexyl, octyl, decanoyl or dodecanoyl.
