PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of easily and accurately specifying a conductor 4 provided side by side which deteriorates the communication condition of inductive radio communication among a plurality of conductors 4 to 4 provided side by side existing in the vicinity of a guide wire 2. SOLUTION: A specifying device 5 is provided with first and second respective antennas 6 and 7, and a main body 8. In performing specifying work, a signal wave transmitted from the guide wire 2 and a non-signal wave transmitted from one to a plurality of conductors 4 provided side by side to be a measurement target are detected by the second antenna 7, respectively. Respective waveforms of the detected signal wave and non-signal wave are displayed on a displaying part of the main body 8, respectively and compared with each other. As a result of this, in the case the non-signal wave is decided to include an induction wave at a large level caused by electromagnetic induction, the one to the plurality of conductors 4 provided side by side to be the measurement target are specified to be a conductor provided side by side which deteriorates a communication condition.
