PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supervisory image recorder that can efficiently record a photographed image from a camera associated with an event. SOLUTION: A recorder 5 records photographed image information through an image changeover section 1, a recording data coding control section 2, an encoder 3, and a recording data transfer control section 4. A recording management information storage section 7 stores information to specify a surveillance camera to record a photographed image and recording density information and recoding time information of the photographed image of a specified surveillance camera respectively corresponding to events. A system control section 9 refers to event information received from an event detection section 10 and the information in the recording management information storage section 7 to extract the information to identify an image to be recorded by the recorder 5 and its recording density information and controls the recording operations.
