STEREO HEADPHONES AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING ARRANGEMENT OF THEIR ACOUSTIC-TRANSDUCERS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly arrange acoustic-transducer systems of a stereo headphone in order to surely determine forward localization of an auditory event with a simple method. SOLUTION: This invention provides a method where each acoustic-transducer is moved starting from the reference position used in conventional acoustic- transducer installations in the earpiece to experimentally optimize the arrangement of the acoustic-transducers to localize the auditory event of the left and right acoustic-transducers of the stereo headphone for localizing the auditory event in front of the listener. Each acoustic-transducer is moved downward and forward repetitively and alternately at a prescribed step interval in order to optimize the arrangement of the acoustic-transducers of the stereo headphone for localizing the auditory event in front and furthermore moved downward in excess of the movement in front for localizing the auditory event in front.
