发明名称 IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS DRIVING METHOD
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the increase in power consumption and image degradation caused by writing defect when an image display device is driven by a system in which the cell that is once written in a subfield group is continuously discharge sustained in a succeeding subfield. SOLUTION: A subfield group consists of subfields SF6 and SF12. When writing is conducted for a cell in any one of the subfields of the group, discharge sustaining (turning on) is continuously conducted to the last SF12 in that cell even though no writing is conducted in the succeeding subfields. In the subfield group, 1 a number L of the subfields to be written is set large for the gradation having a long time from the top of the subfield group to the subfield that is turned on first time and 2 the number L is set large in the gradation having a small number of the frequency of light emission among subfields SF1 to SF5 that are preceeding the subfield group.
