PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing unit capable of easily positioning a printed matter orientation to be provided onto the surface of a recording medium in a simple configuration, and capable of printing on the surface of the recording medium with good appearance. SOLUTION: A printing unit comprises a tray 8 disposed at a predetermined position in a case 1, movably from the predetermined position to the outside of the case 1 so that an optical disc 6 is placed on the tray 8 for printing on the surface of the optical disc 6 at a predetermined position in the case 1 by a printing means, wherein the tray 8 comprises a rotatable placing base 14 for placing the optical disc 6, with indexes 31a, 31b provided around the placing base 14 such that the printed matter orientation to be printed by the printing means is positioned with the indexes 31a, 31b used as the references while rotating the optical disc 6 with the placing base 14. |
