PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum pump mounting structure for an engine that offers a layout allowing overall compactness of an engine. SOLUTION: An end face of an engine block 1 has a chain case 12 for housing a timing belt 18. The timing belt 18 in the chain case 12 drives a vacuum pump body 30. The vacuum pump body 30 is arranged on a rear side 15a of an overhang block 15 formed as an overhang on a chain block 13 of the chain case 12.
