PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heating connecting piece and a heating rod for the water preheating connecting piece which can be economically manufactured and is lighter than a standard component and in which a tightness is entirely improved and a danger of damage due to vibration is reduced. SOLUTION: In the water preheating connecting piece and the heating rod used for it, an inner heating element and at least one heating rod having the inner heating element as required are provided. The heating rod is the water preheating connecting piece protruding in a water flow channel. The heating rod (1) is designed not to have an external thread and to be pressed into a drill hole having no screw thread of the water preheating connecting piece (6). Thus, a connecting electrode is withdrawn from the heating rod (1). The connecting electrode is insulated from the casing of the heating rod (1).
