PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image code recording method with improved readability of an image code to be printed on a transfer paper. SOLUTION: As shown in FIG. 3, an image code unit pitch is set as follows: the minimum pitch in the subs scanning direction Py<=(1/2)×the minimum pitch in the main scanning direction Px. Furthermore, the size ratio of basic pattern of the image code is set as follours: the ratio of the main scanning direction to the sub scanning direction is approximately 2:1.
