PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that white streaks are generated when solid prints are formed, because ink drops discharged from discharge openings positioned to both end sides in an arrangement direction of discharge openings of an ink jet printer are biased to the center side in the arrangement direction. SOLUTION: A liquid discharge head has a plurality of discharge openings 25 arranged along a transfer direction of a printing medium, and a plurality of electrothermal conversion bodies 30 arranged opposite to the discharge openings 25 respectively for discharging a liquid from the discharge openings 25. The liquid discharge head scans and moves along the printing medium in a direction intersecting the transfer direction of the printing medium. The plurality of discharge openings 25 are constituted of a plurality of discharge opening groups arranged mutually in an offset state in a direction parallel to the scanning and moving direction.
