PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve uniformity of the temperature distribution of conditioned air by facilitating an assembling work of two members 80 and 81 by a simple constitution and reducing deviation of lift/right-directional air flows in an air conditioning unit, when a casing body part 32 of the air conditioning unit 4 is divided into two, left and right, in a vertical and integral type air conditioner 1 for a vehicle. SOLUTION: Left-side/right-side casing members 80 and 81 formed by dividing the casing body part 32 of the air conditioning unit 4 storing an evaporator 33, a heater core 34, air mix dampers 36 and 37, etc., into two, the left and the right, in its approximately central part is provided with ribs 82 mutually oppositely extending inward, and an intermediate connecting member 44 connecting the tip parts of the ribs 82 to each other and having front/rear both ends engaged and fixed to the casing members 80 and 81 is provided. The intermediate connecting member 44 is integrally formed with a branch plate part 44b branching the air flow to the left and the right in a bypass passage C of the air conditioning unit 4.
