PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction head for a vacuum cleaner which effectively cools a driving device arranged within a power brush and can reduce suction loss of the cleaner. SOLUTION: This suction head comprises a head case 11 with a suction port 11a formed on the bottom face, the power brush 21 attached within the head case 11 and partially protruding outside the head case 11 through the suction port 11a for removing foreign substances in contact with a subject to be cleaned, a supporting shaft 13 fixed within the head case 11 for supporting the power brush 21 so that it can rotate, a rotational driving device 31 and a linear driving device 41 attached within the power brush 21 between the supporting shaft 13 and the power brush 21 for moving the power brush 21 rotationally and reciprocally, and a cooling fan 51 for cooling the rotational driving device 31 and the linear driving device 41 by blowing air outside the head case 11 into the inside of the power brush 21.
