PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water supply system and a water supply method for stably and efficiently supplying treated water obtained by the membrane treatment of raw water such as tap water or the like to a user while keeping a high sanitary state. SOLUTION: The water supply system is equipped with a water tank to which raw water is supplied, a membrane separator for applying membrane treatment to raw water supplied to the water tank to make treated water, a treated water tank for storing treated water sent from the membrane separator, a water distribution means for distributing treated water from the treated water tank and a control means for detecting the amount of treated water in the treated water tank and controlling the operation of the membrane separator corresponding to the amount of treated water.
