PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure reliable input/output of record data to/from magnetic tape data by preventing complication of input/output processing, and improving the data processing efficiency, in recording multiplexed data. SOLUTION: This magnetic tape input/output system is provided with data output means notifying output data region information and data record track information relating data record character codes with multiple tracks recording data, to magnetic tape control means; and the magnetic tape control means issuing input/output command to the magnetic tape control device based on the respective notification to the magnetic tape control means. In the magnetic tape recorded by this system, the same data over multiple tracks are multiplexed by the same or multiple data record character codes. When failure occurs in reading the data on a single track, the process is quickly continued by reading the multiplexed data on another track.
