PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic heater, which is hard to produce problems, such as a short circuit and the like, when it is assembled in a glow plug or the like, and can keep good junction state of a lead part and a heater main body, even when the cycle of heating/cooling is applied. SOLUTION: It has the rod heater main body 2, in which a resistance heating element 11 made from an electricity conductive ceramic and the electricity conductive course parts 12 and 12 for supplying electricity to the resistance heating element 11, are buried in a ceramic main body 13, which consists of the ceramic heater 1 and an insulated ceramic. The resistance heating element 11 is buried under the tip part of the heater main part 2 in the direction of an axis line O, and on the other hand, the electricity conductive course parts 12 and 12 are conducted to this resistance heating element 11 at their tip ends, and are buried in the direction of the axis line O, in the form that their rear ends are exposed at the rear end face of this heater main part 2. And, electrode extracting components 26 and 27 of a metal are constituted with conduction to the electricity conductive course parts 12 and 12 by being jointed in a surface-contact form through the metal layers 36 and 37 to the rear end face 2r of the heater main part 2 by the form including an exposure domain of the electricity conductive course parts 12 and 12. On the other hand, the electrode extracting components 26 and 27 concerned are made not jointed to the circumference face parts 2s of the heater main part 2.
