PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric element having high sensitivity and a sufficient mechanical strength and to provide an oscillation transducer utilizing the element. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric element used for converting pressure signals into electric signals or electric signals into pressure signals is provided with a porous uniform ceramic body 1 and at least two electrodes 2 attached to the body 1. The body 1 has open pores and, preferably, is wholly sealed hermetically with an elastic coating 4. The oscillation transducer is provided with the piezoelectric element housed in a housing. One bottom face of the piezoelectric element is firmly fixed to the base section of the housing. The opposite bottom face of the element becomes a vibration sensing face. It is preferable to not cover the sensing face with the housing. The housing is filled up with a casting material. The piezoelectric element is mechanically parted from the casting material.
