PURPOSE: A system and a method for learning a foreign language are provided to obtain the desired result by utilizing the interaction between a learner and a computer. CONSTITUTION: A system for learning a foreign language includes a document reception module(11), a document separation module(12), and a sentence separation module(13). The document reception module(11) is used for receiving a document from a learner. The document separation module(12) is used for separating one independent sentence from the received document. The sentence separation module(13) is used for separating sentence elements from the independent sentence. A sentence composition language learning module(3) is connected to the system for learning the foreign language. The sentence composition language learning module(3) is used for composing the sentence by using the separated sentence elements, comparing an input sentence of the learner to the independent sentence, and outputting a compared result to the learner.
