The seal rests against and between two outer panes (14,16) and at least one intermediate pane (20) between the outer panes. An integrated intermediate part (26) contains at least one groove (28) extending lengthwise for making air-tight the edge part (30)of the intermediate pane between the groove's side parts (28-1,28-2) acting as sealing surfaces. Side parts protruding from the intermediate part each have a side sealing surface (36,38) in contact with an adjacent inner surface of the outer panes. At least one of the profiled parts (32,34) which join the sealing surfaces of adjoining panes form a hollow chamber (40,42) extending through the profiled seal (22).
