A lintel (10) is formed of extruded plastics material comprising a hollow elongate portion (11) formed as planar surfaces (18, 19, 20) each linked to an adjacent one of the surfaces (18, 19, 20) by a hinge (21, 22, 23) formed of coextruded flexible plastics material. The portion (11) thus is adjustable in transverse dimension. End caps are provided to maintain the portion (11) in position.
