The differential has a planetary gearing in a gear housing with its outer central wheel driven by a spur wheel. A planetary support (6) is connectable to an output shaft (7, 10) for a front axle and an output shaft (7, 10) for a rear axle. One of the two output shafts is in permanent connection with the planetary support and the other is in permanent connection with the inner central wheel (4). The output shaft connected to the inner wheel is connectable to the planetary support through a switch device (15, 18). The switch device can be a mechanically operated actuating device (19) with a claw clutch (18).
