The control for a room air extractor (1) has a room monitor with at least two senors (11,12) adjacent to the air intake to detect the pivot angle of an air inlet control flap and the swing angle of the flap respectively. The electrical connection of the extractor is closed if at least one or other sensors receive control (7,8) signals, when a preset opening angle of the air inlet flap is detected.
