PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new draft chamber by which wind velocity can be always kept more than a prescribed value without requiring damper regulation by an operator. SOLUTION: In this draft chamber 1, a chamber 3 that covers the upper part of a work table 2 is provided with a damper 9 regulating the exhaust air volume, and a door 6 is attached to the opening part 5 of the chamber 3 for opening and closing the opening part. The opening part 5 of the chamber 3 is provided with an opening/closing sensor 7 for detecting opening and closing of the door 6. The damper 9 is provided with a damper driving mechanism 8, which controls the opening and closing according to the opening/closing sensor 7. Thereby operator's forgetting to regulate the damper can be avoided to keep more than the prescribed wind velocity.
