PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for burning and removing particulates (PM) in exhaust gas in the presence of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and an exhaust gas cleaning method for efficiently removing NOx and PM at the same time. SOLUTION: PM in the exhaust gas is removed in the presence of NOx using a catalyst obtained by supporting Mn or Mn and an alkali metal on a refractory carrier such as zeolite, alumina or the like. NOx and PM are removed at the same time from the exhaust gas containing NOx and PM by bringing the exhaust gas into contact with the catalyst. |
